No I believe in the big bang, not that god created the big bang.

So, where did the primeval atom come from then?  The Big Bang explains how the universe started its expansion (red shift I believe, if not blue, I can't remember), not how things started.

Tell me, if matter cannot be created or destroyed, how could the primeval atom ever have formed?  The only two answers I can logically come up with is that a being that is above nature (Supernatural) did so, or that our scientific theories are much less accurate than we think.

The Big Bang is a cosmological model of the universe, whose primary assertion is that the universe has expanded into its current state from a primordial condition of enormous density and temperature. The term is also used in a narrower sense to describe the fundamental "fireball" that erupted at or close to time t=0 in the history of the universe.[1]

Observational evidence for the Big Bang includes the analysis of the spectrum of light from galaxies, which reveal a shift towards longer wavelengths proportional to each galaxy's distance in a relationship described by Hubble's law. Combined with the assumption that observers located anywhere in the universe would make similar observations (the Copernican principle), this suggests that space itself is expanding. Extrapolation of this expansion back in time yields a state in the distant past in which the universe was in a state of immense density and temperature. This hot, dense state is the key premise of the Big Bang. Observations now place the age of the universe at around 13.7 billion years.

Theoretical support for the Big Bang comes from mathematical models, called Friedmann models. These models show that a Big Bang is consistent with general relativity and with the cosmological principle, which states that the properties of the universe should be independent of position or orientation.

The theory of Big Bang nucleosynthesis predicts the rates at which various light elements are created in models of the early universe and gives results that are generally consistent with observations. The Big Bang model also predicts the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB), a background of weak microwave radiation filling the whole universe. The discovery of the CMB in 1964 led to general acceptance among physicists that the Big Bang is the best model for the origin and evolution of the universe.

Another redshift mechanism is the expansion of the universe, which explains the famous observation that the spectral redshifts of distant galaxies, quasars, and intergalactic gas clouds increase in proportion to their distance from the observer. This mechanism is a key feature of the Big Bang model of physical cosmology.

Many of science theories such as Big Bang are constantly refined, but it doesn't mean that they lack accuracy; they often lack details, so to speak.

With regard to Big Bang, it's really not a theory that someone came up with from thin air, but it's a theory derived from a tested and proven mathematical model (Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) metric).

There are many questions to be asked, BUT if someone wants to call "Big Bang" God or call what started it God, then that's fine. However, there are those who cross-reference this, a mathematical model, and religious textbooks, books that aren't derived from tested and proven models like mathematical models, and argue the validity of "Big Bang". This is not a logical comparison, nor does it draw any tangible logical conclusion. Yet this comparison is indeed made quite often and many end up concluding that however they interpret religious textbooks are correct and accurate without applying the reason, and this is where "God" really becomes their narrow definition and creation.

It wasn't created from nothing. God creating the earth is creating something from nothing. Who created God then?

People.  God only exists because people wanted to write a nice little book.  Don't you think it's funny that all the prophets and crazy stories... Jesus walking on water and all that good stuff happened so long ago and nothing like that has happened since?  Funny how when things aren't historically accurate and tend to exaggerate are from thousands of years ago and didn't happy last year.

God is eternal.  God is above nature.  Our minds cannot fathom the fact of eternal substance.  The physical plane we live in has a beginning, and has an end, but the plane in which God lives on is eternal, along with the spirit of God Himself.

This will be my last post at this forum.  I cannot stand the hypocracy that lies in some people here.  How can you say we are ignorant, when you will not even fathom the idea of an Intelligent Creator.  How can you criticize the Bible when it is obvious that you have not even attempted to read the entire book?  Granted, many, many Christians are as ignorant as ignorant can be, but how can you criticize their ignorance when you are as ignorant as they are?  Where is your logic (Morningstarr) better than ours?

I am sorry for the rant, but where are these debates going when they are generally people throwing themselves at a brick wall?  If you are not even going to consider your opponent's opinion, what is the point of even posting?

So if you think that God is above all, isn't that debunking creating something from nothing? If he can do it... is it not possible that other things can do it? I.E. Big Bang.

Im a highschool student and soon to be voter. I have AP Biology right now. I must learn and study evolution to pass the class, but i still know that evolution is not a full truth. Evolution is full of holes, you have to have just as much faith, if not more, than any cristian to belive in evolution and follow it. I learn lots of great science and wonderful facts in my class, but everytime they try to explain why the plants and animals are so advanced, they just simply tie it to evolution the best way that they can.
